2012 Ned Kelly Awards Short list

 

 

The 2012 shortlist for the Ned Kelly Awards have been announced recently. These awards promote and encourage Australian crime writing.

Best First Fiction

 

The Courier’s New Bicycle by Kim Westwood

The Cartographer by Peter Twohig

When We Have Wings by Claire Corbett 

 

Best Fiction

 

The Life by Malcolm Knox

Chelsea Mansions by Barry Maitland

Pig Boy by J.C. Burke

There is also the SD Harvey Short Story Award in which entrants had to include a certain word within the story. This year the word was “seventeen.” There will be more news on this award at a later date.
