Paint the Blue REaD is an early literacy initiative of the Stronger Families Alliance and is auspiced by Mountains Outreach Community Service (MOCS). This program began in the Blue Mountains in 2008 and is developed by a collaborative working party comprising early childhood teachers, librarians, community worker, bookshop staff, Rotarians and community members who meet regularly to plan, promote and carry out activities and programs that encourage early literacy throughout the Blue Mountains.
As part of Paint the Blue REaD, Katoomba Library will be hosting a storytime on Wednesday, August 31, from 10.30am to 11am.
On Friday, September 3, from 10am to 11am, the Blackheath Branch Librarian will be part of a Reading Extravaganza reading to local children in various High Street businesses, in conjunction with Blackheath HUB.
