2012 – The National Year of Reading – March

So we laughed our way through February, now it’s time to quieten down a bit perhaps and give ourselves time to Think as we read.

This month look out for reading which will make you think. Will it be a new subject area? Something that will challenge the way you currently think about things?

You might engage in deep philosophical thoughts, thoughts of environmental responsibility, or you might find yourself  challenged into thinking about what is happening in other countries.

Are there works by brilliant minds who help you think in different ways, or about new ideas you would not have previously considered?

Maybe you’d like to know a bit more about how your brain works? Studies on the plasticity of the brain are fascinating.

When you are reading what makes you think, you might like to tweet using #NYR12 so that other people can have a conversation with you about your reading.

There will be a live twitter discussion on March 27th starting at 8pm Australian Eastern Standard Time.  Use the tag #NYR12 as you discuss the reading that mades you think, so others can join in the conversation too.

Just to remind you, this is what the rest of the year has in store :

  • March : Think
  • April : Feel
  • May : Escape
  • June : Dream
  •  July : Discover
  • August : Question
  • September : Grow
  • October : Explore
  • November : Cry
  • December : love2read
