International Volunteers Day 2012

Wednesday 5 December was International Volunteers Day and so, as we do each year, we had a morning tea to celebrate with and thank our wonderful Library volunteers.

Our volunteers work in a variety of jobs across all our branches and Library HQ assisting with shelving, repairing items, covering books, collecting news items, obituaries etc for Local Studies and participating in Library events. They are a valuable part of the Library team.

At the moment, we do not need any more volunteers but when we do we go through the Centre for Volunteering (Volunteering NSW). The Centre for Volunteering is the peak body in NSW promoting and supporting volunteering and community participation. If you are interested in volunteer work at Blue Mountains City Library please contact the Centre for Volunteering on (02) 9261 3600.
