Stella Prize for Australian Women’s Writing

This year is the first year the Stella Prize will be awarded. It is a literary prize for Australian women’s writing and was created in response to a couple of years of male-only longlists in the Miles Franklin Award. It is called the Stella Prize because Stella was Miles Franklin’s first name.

The judges include Kerryn Goldsworthy, Kate Grenville, Claudia Karvan, Fiona Stager and Rafael Epstein. They will announce the shortlist on March 20th and the winner on April 16th.

There were almost 200 entrants for this award. So who is on the longlist?
