40th Birthday Morning Tea at Springwood Library

If you weren’t at the 40th Birthday Morning Tea yesterday morning you’ve missed it.  The bunting went up, the cake, biscuits and sandwiches went out and the community came out to celebrate.  Guests were welcomed by Vicki Edmunds the Manager, Libraries and Customer Services and by Robert Greenwood, General Manager of Blue Mountains City Council. Councillor Chris Van der Kley assisted with some of the formalities.

The guests included some former staff who told us of their experiences at Blue Mountains and other libraries – managing collections without computers. I can’t even begin to imagine how that was managed!

Thank you to all our wonderful Library users who took the time over the last month or so to write about some of the things you love about your Libraries. To our delight, and blushing somewhat, we found that it is the staff of the Library that you appreciate most and for that support all the staff of the Library thank you.

Simon and Barbara had their entries drawn out of the box by Cllr Chris Van der Kley and recieved a $50 book voucher each to spend in The Turning Page bookshop.
