A FREE family event

Blue Mountains City Library is teaming up with Katoomba-based games shop, Afternoonified, to bring  a jam-packed day of board game fun.

Come ready to play a game or learn to master one of the many exciting new games that Afternoonified will be teaching. There will be craft activities and games for sale too!

Held in conjunction with International Tabletop Day.

Paragon Cafe 100 Years Display at Katoomba Library

Katoomba’s renowned Art-Deco gem the Paragon Café reaches its 100th anniversary this year and, to celebrate this milestone, the Friends of the Paragon have set up a display of original artefacts and curiosities from the café at Katoomba Library along with a brochure outlining the history of the building and business.

NSW Premier’s Literary Awards

The Kenneth Slessor Prize ($30,000) is offered to a poet for a book of collected poems or for a single poem of substantial length published in book form.

The Patricia Wrightson Prize for Children’s Literature

The UTS Glenda Adams Award for New Writing

The UTS Glenda Adams Award ($5,000) looks for outstanding new literary talent and is for a published book of fiction written by an author who has not previously published a book-length work of narrative fiction or narrative non-fiction.  This award is sponsored wholly by the University of Technology, Sydney.

Winners for the 2016 Awards will be announced on Monday 16 May 2016.

ANZAC Day 2016

 

All Blue Mountains Library branches will be closed on ANZAC Day, Monday 25 April 2016.

Library branches will re-open on Tuesday April 26 with normal opening hours.
