Games enthusiasts of all ages are invited to a day of board game fun when Katoomba Library joins over a thousand libraries around the world for the ninth annual celebration of board games in libraries – International Games Day @ Your Library.

Like so many other libraries across the country and around the world, Blue Mountains Library will offer a special event suitable for the whole family and is proud to partner with the fabulous Katoomba games shop, Afternoonified, to present a variety of new and different board games and to offer tuition in how to play.

There will be over 40 games of strategy, fun and thrills to choose from and tuition in how to play. Try your hand at Ticket to Ride, a cross-country train adventure connecting cities in various countries around the world, or Catan, where you find yourself in the era of discoveries, your ship has finally reached the coast of an uncharted island but you are not the only discoverer and the race to settle the island has begun!

There will be Small World, Machi Koro, Carcassonne, Colt Express, Dixit and more so be prepared to go on a journey of learning and discovery like no other and don’t forget to experience the giant chess set too!

Bring the family, a friend or just come and join in – this is a FREE event for all ages and games will be for sale too, in case you just have to know how it all ends!  No need to book.

International Games Day @ your library is an international initiative supported by the Australian Library and Information Association.
