From today Springwood Library and the Council Customer Service Desk is temporarily closed. Both services will reopen on

This closure is to allow for the final phase of the new theatre and community hub building works with new Library and Customer Service desks to be installed, some rearrangement of the interior of Springwood Library and the final links to be put into place between the Library building and the new Galleria.

During this time the After Hours book bins will remain open for returns (make sure you wrap any CDs and DVDs carefully so they don’t become damaged. Other branches can be called to renew items over the phone.

Perhaps you might like to take the opportunity to visit one of our other library branches during this time?

Double Celebration

library act

Did you know the NSW Library Act is turning 75 this year ? #libraryact75th

This landmark legislation led to the provision of free public library services for the people of NSW and was adopted in 1967 in the Blue Mountains.

This photo was taken in 1970 as part of the Blue Mountains community campaign for a library service.

The Blue Mountains Library Service began in 1974 and we have been celebrating our 40th Birthday this year. All members of the Blue Mountains community are invited to a 40th Birthday morning tea next week.
